Senior Rescue Instructor

David has been with the fire service in southern California for over 25 years. He started his career as a firefighter in 1983 with the Orange County Fire Department. Now known as the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), Dave has served as a Firefighter and Fire Captain in a variety of roles, including Hazardous Materials Specialist and Assistant Fire Training Officer.

He has been assigned to the OCFA Air Operations Program since its inception in 1994. With over 15 years of fire / rescue aviation experience, David has participated in many major wildland fires throughout the state in a variety of air operations positions. He is currently assigned as the Air Operations Branch Director on CAL-FIRE Incident Management Team 9.

David authored the OCFA Helicopter Rescue Program and oversees the training, certification and re-currency of their hoist operators, spotters and rescue personnel.
